Biography
With over 20 years of experience in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, I have dedicated my career to fostering linguistic and cultural understanding among students from diverse backgrounds. I earned the title of Associate Professor in China in 2010 and have since taught Chinese language to students from more than 40 countries, ranging from teenagers to adults.
My teaching philosophy focuses on creating dynamic and engaging learning environments. I strive to develop learners’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills through carefully designed classroom activities that inspire motivation and active participation.
From 2011 to 2018, I taught various levels of Chinese language courses at Emory University’s Department of Russian and East Asian Languages and Cultures (REALC) during its collaboration with the Confucius Institute of China. Between 2019 and March 2022, I worked with the Ministry of Education in the United Arab Emirates, playing a key role in introducing Chinese language education across the region. From 2022 to 2023, I served as the Curriculum Director for the Chinese Cultural School of Atlanta.
In Spring 2025, I will teach CHN 302 and CHN 403. My passion for teaching continues to guide my mission of empowering students to succeed in their Chinese language learning journey.
