Myoung-Eun PangAdjunct Assistant Professor

Biography

Dr. Pang was born in South Korea and received her B.A. from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, majoring in English Languages and Literatures. After earning an M.Ed. in Literacy Education from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, Dr. Pang completed her Ph.D. in Teaching and Learning with the concentration of Language and Literacy Education from the Department of Middle and Secondary Education at Georgia State University.

Dr. Pang worked as an English teacher in Korea and taught Korean to elementary and secondary school students at community-based Korean schools in the U.S. Since 2014, Dr. Pang has taught college-courses related to language, culture, and teacher education as well as Korean courses at different levels including beginning, intermediate, advanced levels, and Korean proficiency through TV.

With the concern of language, culture, agency, and identity, her research interest includes language learners/multilingual learners, literacy development in teaching and learning, web-based study groups, and teacher education. Dr. Pang is also interested in developing Korean language curriculum through effective cultural experience employing multimodality and technology.
