REALC Bids Farewell to Faculty

The Department of REALC bid farewell to three of its faculty members at the end of the Spring 2026 semester.

Elena Glazov

Dr. Elena Glazov-Corrigan joined the department in 2001. She served as chair for several years and taught classes in Russian language, literature, and culture throughout her twenty-five years with us. Some of her most popular offerings included her Shakespeare in Russian Culture class, seminars on Doestoevsky and Tolstoy, and her semi-annual summer abroad program in St. Petersburg, Russia. Elena was much beloved by students and faculty alike, her boundless enthusiasm and love for teaching matched only by her tireless advocacy of the Russian program at Emory. She leaves us now to enjoy a richly deserved retirement! She will be dearly missed by all.

Chen Wang

Dr. Chen Wang joined REALC three years ago as an Assistant Teaching Professor of Chinese language. During her brief time with us, she taught Chinese language at a variety of levels, served on numerous committees, volunteered at student events, and emerged as one of the most innovative members of the Chinese program. She leaves us for an excellent opportunity as an Assistant Professor of Chinese in the East Asian Studies Department at Williams College! We wish her great success in her new position!

Jeehwan Lee

Jeehwan Lee has served as an Adjunct Instructor of Korean for the past five years. She leaves REALC to return to Yonsei University in Korea to complete her Ph.D. program. Pictured here, Dr. Bumyong Choi delivers a farewell speech in her honor. She will be greatly missed by her students and colleagues, who all wish her well in this next chapter of her career.
