Keeko KawataAdjunct Instructor, Japanese

Biography

Keeko Kawata holds a B.A. in Educational Anthropology from Ritsumeikan University, an M.A. in English Education and American Literature from Naruto University of Education, and an additional M.A. in Applied Linguistics from Texas Tech University. She has taught English at Japanese high schools and Japanese at an American university.

Her research interests include second language acquisition, content and language integrated learning (CLIL), and collaborative online international learning (COIL). 

She values fostering learner autonomy by incorporating cultural materials such as songs and manga, while helping students broaden their global perspectives and values in the classroom.
