Nayoung Kim is a Korean language educator and scholar whose work explores Korean language learning and teaching across diverse linguistic, cultural, and social contexts. Her teaching experience encompasses university Korean language programs, intensive language instruction, and educational programs serving learners with varied linguistic and cultural backgrounds in Korea and the United States.

From 2025 to 2026, she taught Korean to students from diverse national backgrounds at Dongguk University and Ajou University in Korea. She has also taught Korean through a short-term intensive language program for U.S. military personnel and has worked with Russian-speaking learners, including Koryo-saram students. Since 2022, she has continued to teach Korean to American learners in a range of educational settings.

Her professional and scholarly interests lie at the intersection of language, identity, and culture. In addition to linguistic dimensions of Korean language learning, such as vocabulary development and second language acquisition, she is particularly interested in how learners’ identities, cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and lived experiences shape their engagement with the Korean language. Her work seeks to contribute to more inclusive and culturally responsive approaches to Korean language education, with particular attention to the diverse identities and experiences that learners bring to the language classroom.
