Biography
Jihye Sohn received her M.A. in Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language from Yonsei University in 2022. Her master's research explored the impact of media, particularly drama subtitles, on vocabulary acquisition among intermediate and advanced Korean language learners. She holds a Level 2 Korean Language Teaching Certificate.
She has taught Korean at the Korean Language Institute of Myongji University, working with learners across various proficiency levels. Her teaching has included vocabulary, grammar, speaking, reading, and listening, with a strong emphasis on communicative and learner-centered approaches.
Her current research interests focus on language assessment, especially speaking evaluation. She is particularly interested in developing fair and valid speaking assessments, with a focus on identifying differential item functioning (DIF).
